3/14/2024 EnchantaVaughn Approved Behavior: Upon the start of the session, client appeared to be frustrated with having responsibilities and chores at home while her mom had appointments for hair. Client was asked to talk with QMHP and get out of her feelings but mother reports when client is in her ways she will not speak for hours and shut down with behaviors lasting up to 2 hours in duration. Intervention: QMHP explored the underlying factors contributing to the clientâs pattern of blaming others for her disruptive behaviors and negative attitude. QMHP encouraged client to listen to her mother. QMHP encouraged client to be the example for her brother. QMHP firmly and consistently confronted client on how her negative thoughts and emotions impacts her self-esteem and ability to trust her environment and those around her. QMHP utilized a role-reversal technique to assist client with alternative ways to avoid negative interaction and to assist her with better decision-making skills. QMHP supported client as she identified how her patterns of blaming others is associated with underlying feeling of inadequacy and insecurity. QMHP reviewed and discussed the importance of displaying respectful behaviors within the home setting. Response: Client initially presented with talkative behaviors as she probed the QMHP and asked different questions regarding todayâs therapy session. Client was reluctant and hesitate, as she remained mistrustful in regard to extending a friendly or respectful rapport back toward family and staff. Client was assisted in practicing general communications skills. Client reported to QMHP that she doesnât like the way that people talk to her in the house and that she was not happy with being responsible for her familyâs struggles. Client expressed frustration. Client blames her mental illness for her attitude, mood, and behaviors. Client stated that she doesnât intend on being negative and agrees she need to work on controlling and channeling her anger, as well as, listening and communicating her feelings better.
